yes martin. it's called 'dropped-out'... there are several imaging software one can use to get this effect. photoshop is just one of them.

derived from what we used to do in the darkroom: developing the image using metal-based toners (iron toning for bluish effect, nickel toning for magenta effect)... then paint the selected image with the desired color.
